Stress-free
harvesting
Harvesting salmon is a delicate process. Our unique method allows us to gently and swiftly harvest small batches at a time, ensuring a stress-free harvest that prioritises the wellbeing of the salmon.
Minimal stress not only improves salmon quality but also extends shelf life.
The transport pen
When our salmon are ready for harvest, we move them in small batches from their sea pens into a dedicated transport pen.
This pen is carefully towed by boat from our farming site to the harvesting area, keeping the salmon calm and relaxed along the way.
The harvest pen
Upon arrival at our harvesting station, the salmon swim naturally from the transport pen into the harvest pen.
Here, they are carefully divided into small groups, preparing them for the next step.
Stun & bleed system
The salmon then swim into our fully automated stun and bleed system, which ensures they are stunned and bled instantly without stress.
This method is quick, humane, and preserves quality.
Transport to processing facility
Immediately after slaughter, the salmon are placed in an ice slurry to rapidly cool the fish.
The salmon is then transported to our processing facility.
Hand cleaning & grading
At our processing facility, each salmon is carefully cleaned and graded by hand to ensure the highest quality.
We even ensure that every salmon is placed correctly in the box.
Icing & packaging
To keep the salmon fresh throughout the journey, we pack them with plenty of ice in every box.
